Corner View ~ Monochrome

La Bahia Apartments on 215 Beach Street, Santa Cruz, C.A. This historic mission style building built in  1926 is going to be demolished except the bell tower, to become a posh hotel. I will truly miss this nostalgic gem. Demolition hasn't started yet so on my next trip I must take more in depth photo's to have for posterity.

Corner View ~ Paper

Graduation time has come to Casa Sol Y Luna.  Money/candy leis seem to be all the rage these past 3 years and with the awesomeness of Pinterest anyone can create one.

{M}'s Preschool promotion Lei.

{E}'s 6th grade Graduation Lei.

And with that being said it is officially summer break for me and the kids. Oh what will we do to pass  the time together? Here's the tutorials for the flowers & leaves. For a global take on today's corner view theme" paper" visit FuoriBorgo.

Beach House Welcome

I've slowly been transitioning my house from hum drum to coastal beach house flare. Little disclaimer " I am nowhere near the beach and live in the hot dry Sacramento Valley" , but hey a girl can dream. Paint lately has been my means of fun and expression now that crazy mercury retrograde has left the building.

So lets start off with this paint that has been sitting around in storage for about 2 years. It was originally purchased for our beachy bathroom makeover but was a little to dark for my taste. I finally popped the top and added it to a piece of plywood I rescued from the fire pit.

I used stencils from Walmart craft section to do the lettering & hot glued the shells on. Twine was added for hanging.

Welcome to Casa Sol Y Luna . I found this lovely rocking chair at the Goodwill for $8.00 (score). Stay tuned for more paint and home improvement projects.

Corner View ~ Meeting & Parting

There has been so much meeting & parting this week that I woke up knowing it was Wednesday but had no idea what the prompt was. The end of the school year is full of being here there and everywhere. {S} will be a high school sophomore, {E} will be entering  Jr. High, {L} will be in 5th grade, and {M} will be a kindergartner. Just a little update on the kiddos.

A strong foundation is necessary for branches to grow and thrive no matter what direction they may be in. This also goes for Wednesday's and Corner View. Although I sometimes do not have a posting and am guilty of mostly only visiting on Wednesday's I do enjoy and look forward to glimpsing onto the live's of our global community. May the rest of your week be blessed!

P.S. This art hangs in my living room (artist unknown) I purchased it at The Goodwill for $ 2.99
